Working in several workspaces

Switching between them, and what belongs to a workspace rather than to you.

2 minute read

You get a personal workspace when you sign up, and you can be invited to as many others as you like. One account, several workspaces.

Switching

The switcher sits at the top of the sidebar. Changing it changes what everything else means: the dashboard, files, billing, settings and any API key you create from then on all belong to the workspace you are in.

The command palette (Ctrl/Cmd + K) can switch too, which is quicker once you have more than two.

What belongs to the workspace

Files, members and roles, API keys, webhooks, the audit log, branding, billing and the plan. These do not follow you when you switch, and other members of that workspace can see them according to their role.

What belongs to you

Your profile, password, second factor, passkeys and notification preferences. These follow you everywhere and no workspace administrator can see or change them.

Creating another

From the switcher, choose Create workspace. You become its owner, and it starts on the free plan with its own billing. There is no limit on how many you may own.

Leaving one

From Settings → Workspace, leave a workspace you no longer need. If you are its only owner you cannot leave; promote somebody else first, or delete the workspace outright, which removes its files, keys and history for everybody.
