Plans and limits

What each plan includes, how limits behave when you reach them, and how to change plan.

2 minute read

Plans are per workspace, not per person. Everyone in a workspace shares its plan, its storage and its API quota.

What a plan controls

  • Members: how many people may be in the workspace.
  • Storage: total bytes across all files.
  • API keys and the API quota: requests per minute and per day. See Rate limits and quotas.
  • Metered allowances such as compute minutes, where included amounts differ per plan.

Current usage against each limit is on the billing page, and the dashboard shows the headline numbers.

Reaching a limit

Limits are enforced when you try to exceed them, not retroactively. Uploading a file that would take you over the storage limit is refused with a message saying so; the files you already have are untouched. The same is true for members and API keys.

Metered allowances behave differently: going over an included amount is allowed, and the overage is either billed by the payment provider or shown for reference, depending on which provider the deployment uses.

Changing plan

From the billing page, choose another plan. What happens next depends on the direction:

  • Upgrading takes effect immediately, and the prorated difference for the rest of the period is charged to your saved payment method straight away. If that payment is declined, nothing changes: update your payment method in the billing portal and try again.
  • Downgrading also takes effect immediately, and the credit for unused time is applied to your next invoice. Check that you are under the new plan's limits first; being over a limit does not delete anything, but it does block adding more.
  • Cancelling leaves you on the paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, then drops the workspace to the free plan. Nothing is deleted.

Per-seat plans

On a per-seat plan the quantity follows the member count automatically. Adding somebody adds a seat, removing them releases it, and the prorated difference is charged (or credited) when it happens. You never buy seats in advance.
